Intensive Language Courses and Activities in England

MAXIMUM PROGRESS IN MINIMUM TIME! Ages 12–14 / Ages 14–18 – 7th through 12th grade

This program allows students to make maximum progress in a minimum amount of time. It is designed for motivated students who, depending on the length of their stay, will be able to take a number of class hours equivalent to several months of English instruction in high school.

Your trip at a glance

  1. 1 or 2 children per family (your choice)
  2. 4 hours of class per day
  3. 8 to 10 students per teacher
  4. A variety of recreational activities (sports, field trips) led in English
  5. Guided tours departing from nearly 30 cities

Accommodation

  1. Within a family selected and visited by our local organizers
  2. Your choice: 1 or 2 French students per family ( option to stay with a friend)
  3. Families living in residential neighborhoods near the campus
  4. Full board (on weekdays, a packed lunch provided by the family at noon)

English classes

  1. 4 4 hours of classes per day, in the morning
  2. Classes of 8 to 10 students, formed based on a placement test
  3. Intensive, tailoredinstruction based on the students' needs
  4. Interactive courses for significant improvement in both writing and speaking
  5. Practicing speaking skills to build self-confidence
  6. Grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension
  7. Practical exercises, press reviews, discussions, role-playing, etc.
  8. Classes taught by a team consisting of an English-speaking teacher and a bilingual teacher, combining a variety of teaching approaches
  9. Submitting a trip report

Supervision

  1. English and French teachers and instructors
  2. 1 adult for every 12 children
  3. 1 French staff member on site, available to parents and students
  4. Priorities: progress in English, youth safety and well-being

Activities and Recreation

  1. 5 afternoons of recreational activities per week, led in English, such as (depending on the location):

Sports: tennis, swimming, bowling, soccer, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, mini-golf, badminton, etc.

Cultural tours: Oxford or Cambridge University, the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, Canterbury Cathedral, the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, etc.

  1. A one-day excursion, such as to London, Bath, Oxford, or Brighton, etc.
  2. 1 to 2 supervised evening events (in certain host cities), such as: LEC party, BBQ party, karaoke, etc.
