English language camps in France offer young people an experience that combines progress, fun, and discovery in an English-speaking environment, with full immersion in the English language, all while staying in France.

Accommodation

  1. At one of our beautiful campuses where everything is conducted in English: the Marmoutier Institution on the banks of the Loire, the Domaine du Chambon – Sports and Nature Center in Charente, or the Domaine de Valrance in Aveyron
  2. Find out how campuses are selected.
  3. Comfortable rooms with 1 to 4 beds (and sometimes 4 to 6 beds for younger children)
  4. You can stay with one or more friends
  5. High-quality facilities and a wide range of amenities (depending on the campus): green spaces, sports fields, a gymnasium, an auditorium, etc.
  6. Modern and comfortable classrooms
  7. Full board with hot meals prepared on-site, mainly using local ingredients 

 

Bilingual instruction

  1. English-speaking teachers and activity leaders available 24 hours a day
  2. 1 adult for every 12 children
  3. 1 French director on site, available to parents
  4. Coaching in accordance with Youth and Sports standards
  5. Priorities: progress in language learning, safety, and the well-being of young people

English lessons

  1. Classes taught in the morning by a team composed of bilingual teachers
  2. Interactive teaching methods
  3. Three hours of class per day, in groups of 12 to 15 students organized by level: vocabulary, listening comprehension, and grammar are taught through hands-on activities, news articles, role-playing, projects, and more.
  4. Several morning sessions organized around topics that encourage discussion(Harry Potter, the environment, travel, Sherlock Holmes, American movies, TV shows, and cartoons, English-speaking celebrities, etc.).
    The goal: to spark young people’s interest, pique their curiosity, and encourage them to participate and express themselves as much as possible in English
  5. Presentation of an LEC Certificate for a Language Study Abroad Program
  6. Submitting a trip report

Activities and Recreation

  1. Set amidst beautiful green spaces, the campuses selected by LEC will allow young people to participate in a wide range of outdoor activities— all conducted in English— in a safe environment.
  2. Every afternoon (depending on the host campus), students choose what they’d like to do from the following:
    – Sports activities and introductions to sports from the English-speaking world, such as: baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, tennis, cricket, footy (Australian Football), dance, badminton, beach volleyball, table tennis, supervised swimming in the pool, yoga, cheerleading, forest orienteering, etc.
    – Artistic and cultural activities, such as: theater, chess tournaments, drawing, escape games, immersion in the world of Harry Potter, DC Comics workshops, Marvel, Sherlock Holmes investigations, origami, tasting British or American pastries (pancakes, scones, etc.), etc.
  3. Every evening, supervised activities such as: LEC party, karaoke, Prom Night, talent contest, casino party, BBQ party, mystery night, movie night, etc.
