The Berlin and Leipzig region

Berlin is the heart of a vibrant metropolis, brimming with ideas, culture, and creativity. A city of entertainment, fashion, design, and music, this reunified city has always been steeped in a completely unique atmosphere of renewal. Leipzig, affectionately known as “das kleine Paris,” has become an essential meeting place for artists from around the world, who come to savor its warm atmosphere.

The Cologne and Frankfurt area

Considered one of the country’s leading intellectual and artistic hubs, Cologne is famous for its magnificent Romanesque architecture and narrow streets lined with colorful houses. Further south, Heidelberg—known for its castle—is the true symbol of German Romanticism, which has inspired countless poets.

The Hamburg and Hanover region

Hamburg enjoys a favorable location atthe mouth of the Elbe, which has enabled it to become one of the country’s largest industrial and commercial centers.

Its economic "rival," Bremen, is also a charming cultural city with its imposing 13th-century cathedral and picturesque narrow streets lined with old fishermen's houses. The distinctive atmosphere of Göttingen, a city shaped by academic life, captivates visitors with its authentic half-timbered houses and its old town, surrounded by medieval ramparts. Wolfsburg, one of the few new cities of the 20th century, is a prime example of successful urban development.

The Munich area

As the capital of southern Germany, Munich attracts visitors with its cultural vibrancy and famous carnival. The history of this region is intertwined with that of the kings and princes of Bavaria, who built magnificent castles here. Further west, Ulm, a former imperial city rich in history and tradition, is now an important university town and a major economic hub.
