Highlights of the trip
Summer Camp programs offer the opportunity to study in the unique setting of an international campus, alongside young people from all over the world. With a comprehensive schedule of classes, a variety of activities, and lively evening events, Summer Camp programs are one of the best ways to learn English, have fun all day long, and make new friends while practicing English.
Our campus
- On the beautiful Carleton University campus, located near downtown Ottawa and carefully selected by our teams. Learn how we select colleges, campuses, and residence halls
- Comfortable rooms with 1 to 4 beds
- You can stay with one or more friends
- The presence of students from many different countries on campus
- High-quality sports and educational facilities: green spaces, a gymnasium, sports fields and playgrounds, a swimming pool, a theater, etc.
- Modern and comfortable classrooms
- Full board with hot meals for lunch and dinner ( on excursion days, packed lunches are provided)
Supervision
- Canadian and French teachers and instructors available 24 hours a day
- 1 adult for every 15 young people
- 1 French supervisor on site, available to parents
- Priorities: progress in English, youth safety and well-being
Language classes
- 3 hours of English class per day, in the morning
- Classes of 15 students of different nationalities, formed based on a placement test
- Interactive courses for significant improvement in both writing and speaking
- Practicing speaking skills to build self-confidence
- Grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension
- Practical exercises, press reviews, discussions, role-playing, etc.
- Courses taught by a team of qualified Canadian instructors
Activities and Recreation
The days are structured in an engaging way to keep the students interested. They are conducted in English and supervised by qualified instructors and teachers.
- 6 afternoons of recreational activities per week, led in English:
– cultural tours, such as: a tour of Ottawa, the Canadian Parliament, the National Museum of Nature, Upper Canada Village, a visit to Omega Park to observe many species of Canadian wildlife in their natural habitat, etc.
LEC Exclusive : plus, a 1-day excursion to Montreal included
– Calypso Park, Canada’s largest water park
– Sports and recreation on campus, such as: tennis, laser tag, bowling, swimming, soccer, dance, go-karting, basketball, baseball, Olympic games, etc. - Every evening, there are supervised activities, such as: international parties, karaoke, trivia nights, talent shows, casino nights, BBQ parties, fashion shows, social games, and more.
Optional excursion:Toronto and Niagara Falls.
