England - July, August - for students in 6th grade and up

This program, offered ata boarding school inEngland during July and August, is designed for anyone who wants to study at a superb English boarding school and, in addition to three hours of English lessons per day, dreams of honing their manga drawing skills, while also enjoying a wide variety of outdoor recreational activities and evening social events. 

The Manga Theme in Detail

In addition to language classes:

  1. 3 sessions of 3 hours each per week, in the afternoon, conducted in English
  2. A program designed for bothbeginner and experienced artists who dream of becoming mangaka
  3. Development of basic methods and proficiency with equipment
  4. An introduction to the essential principles of drawing and the world of manga: proportion, movement, character design, line work, composition, perspective, etc.
  5. Create your own manga character and produce a single panel, going through every step of the creative process: storyboarding, genga, panel layout, inking (Kento), coloring, pencil sketches, etc.

 

In addition to the manga classes

  1. 2 to 3 afternoons of leisure activities , led in English, during which students choose what they’d like to do from a wide range of options, such as:
    sports and arts: tennis, swimming, soccer, dance, drawing, volleyball, basketball, Olympic-style games, scrapbooking, golf, cricket, arts and crafts, escape games, badminton, bowling, etc.
    cultural tours (depending on the location): Oxford or Cambridge University, the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, the Roman Baths in Bath, etc.
  1. One day trip per week to places such as Cambridge, London, Bath, Oxford, or Bristol, etc.
  2. Every evening, supervised activities such as: LEC party, karaoke, trivia night, talent show, casino night, giant "Draw and Win," BBQ party, fashion show, social games, etc.
