Immerse yourself in the English language and practice dance, all while staying in France Ages 11–14 / 14–16 – 6th to 10th grade

The English Summer Camp in France with a Dance Option is designed for anyone who wants to study on a beautiful campus and, in addition to three hours of English classes per day, dreams of fully pursuing their passion for dance, while enjoying a wide variety of recreational activities and fun evening events… all without leaving France.

Accommodation

  1. On the beautiful campus of the Institution Marmoutier, on the banks of the Loire, where everything is conducted entirely in English 
  2. Comfortable rooms with 1 to 4 beds (and sometimes 4 to 6 beds for younger children)
  3. You can stay with one or more friends
  4. High-quality facilities and a wide range of amenities: green spaces, sports fields, a gym, etc.
  5. Modern and comfortable classrooms
  6. Full board with hot meals prepared on-site, mainly using local ingredients

All of our campuses are Jeunesse et Sport-approved lodging and vacation centers

English classes

  • Three hours of English classes per day, in the morning, taught by a team of qualified bilingual teachers
  • Classes of 12 to 15 students organized by skill level and age
  • An interactive and tailored teaching approach : focusing on vocabulary, listening comprehension, and grammar through hands-on activities, news reviews, role-playing, projects, and more.
  • Many classes are organized around a specific theme ( Harry Potter, ecology, travel, American movies and TV shows, English-speaking celebrities, etc.) to spark discussion andencourage students to participate as much as possible in English
  • Presentation of an LEC Certificate for a Language Study Abroad Program
  • Sending a trip summary   

Bilingual instruction

  1. English- and French-speaking teachers and activity leaders available 24 hours a day
  2. 1 adult for every 12 children
  3. 1 French director on site, available to parents
  4. Priorities: progress in English, youth safety and well-being
  5. Coaching in accordance with Youth and Sports standards

Dance and other activities and hobbies

The LEC Summer Camp experience also gives young people the chance toenjoy the beautiful green spaces on our campuses, try out new activities, and have funin a safe environment.

  1. 6 afternoons of dance ( see details below)
  2. On other afternoons, the young person chooses what they want to do from a selection of activities such as:
    • Sports activities and introductions to sports from the English-speaking world: baseball, basketball, cheerleading, soccer, tennis, cricket, badminton, beach volleyball, table tennis, yoga, Double Dutch, forest orienteering, etc.
    • Artistic and cultural activities: theater, drawing, escape games, origami, immersion in Anglo-Saxon worlds (Harry Potter, DC Comics, Marvel, Sherlock Holmes, etc.), tasting British or American pastries (pancakes, scones), etc.
  3. Every evening, the students enjoy supervised English-language activities, such as: Talent Contest, BBQ Party, Mystery Night, Movie Night, Prom Night, LEC Party, and more.

Dance Theme: Details

  1. 6 sessions of 3 hours each, in the afternoon
  2. A program suitable for both beginners and experienced dancers
  3. Dynamic dance classes led by experienced dance instructors
  4. Introduction to or advanced training in a wide variety of dance styles: modern jazz, street dance, hip-hop, K-pop dance, modern dance, belly dance, classical dance, and African dance
  5. Work on mastering steps, postures, choreography, etc.
  6. Production of a performance at the end of the stay

2/ Without transportation (individual travel)
For all stays, you may choose to drop off your child directly at the residence campus on the first day of the stay and pick them up there on the last day of the stay during the time slots that will be provided to you after registration.
