Study and Activity Program in Malta

This program combines a balanced mix of classes and activities, making it ideal for improving your English. It offers the opportunity to learn the language of Shakespeare in a unique setting through engaging, student-centered classes, while participating in a rich and varied program of leisure activities and evening events.

Your trip at a glance

  1. 2 children per family
  2. 3 hours of classes per day with young people from all over the world
  3. 12 to 15 students per teacher
  4. A variety of recreational activities (sports, beach time, excursions, and supervised evening events), led in English
  5. Guided tours by plane departing from Paris and Lyon

Travel around the island by private bus!

To make it easier to get around the island, we have set up a private bus service that provides round-trip transportation to classes, activities , and evening events (when the distances involved make it necessary). At the end of each supervised evening event, each young person is taken back to a location near their family’s home.

Accommodation

  1. With a familyselected and visited by our local organizers
  2. 2 French speakers per family (option to stay with a friend)
  3. Full board (packed lunch provided at noon)

Class

  1. 3 hours of class per day, in the morning
  2. Classes of 12 to 15 students of different nationalities, formed based on a placement test
  3. Interactive courses for significant improvement in both writing and speaking
  4. Practicing speaking skills to build self-confidence
  5. Grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension
  6. Practical exercises, press reviews, discussions, role-playing, etc.
  7. Courses taught by qualified Maltese instructors (TEFL – Teacher of English as a Foreign Language) who are accredited by the Maltese Ministry of Education
  8. Submitting a trip report

Lesson 32

Supervision

  1. Maltese and French teachers and instructors
  2. 1 adult for every 12 children
  3. 1 French staff member on site, available to parents and students
  4. Priorities: progress in English, youth safety and well-being

 

Activities and Recreation

  1. 6 to 7 afternoons of recreational activities per week, conducted in English, such as:

– Water-based sports: swimming, beach soccer, volleyball, etc.
– Cultural tours: the walled city of Mdina, Valletta—the capital of Malta—, the Mosta Dome—one of the largest in the world—, etc.

  1. 3 to 4 organized evening events per week, such as: International Party, Harbor Cruise by Night, Festa Evening, karaoke, or pool party, etc.

Important: All English language programs in Malta are open only to students who can swim. No evening outings other than those organized and supervised by LEC (or by the host family) will be permitted.

Note for spring and All Saints' Day breaks: Since the weather can be cool during these periods, the program focuses on cultural activities rather than swimming.
