Middle School Trip to England – Horseback Riding

The Boarding School – Horseback Riding Program is designed for anyone who wants to study at a superb English boarding school and, in addition to three hours of English lessons per day, dreams of fully pursuing their passion for horseback riding, while enjoying a wide variety of recreational activities and relaxing evenings.

Accommodation

  2. Comfortable rooms with 1 to 4 beds (and sometimes 4 to 6 beds for younger children)
  3. You can stay with one or more friends
  4. On campus, high-quality sports and educational facilities: green spaces, a gym, sports fields and playgrounds, a swimming pool, a theater, etc. (depending on the location)
  5. Modern and comfortable classrooms
  6. Full board with hot meals for lunch and dinner ( on excursion days, packed lunches are provided)

Class

  1. 3 hours of class per day, in the morning
  2. Classes of 12 to 15 students, formed based on a placement test
  3. Interactive courses for significant improvement in both writing and speaking
  4. Practicing speaking skills to build self-confidence
  5. Grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension
  6. Practical exercises, press reviews, discussions, role-playing, etc.
  7. Classes taught by a team consisting of an English-speaking teacher and a bilingual teacher, combining a variety of teaching approaches
  8. Submitting a trip report

Class 1 Lesson

Supervision

  1. English and French teachers and activity leaders available 24 hours a day
  2. 1 adult for every 12 children
  3. 1 French director on site, available to parents
  4. Priorities: progress in English, youth safety and well-being

Activities and Recreation

  1. 3 two-hour horseback riding sessions per week, conducted in English ( see details below)
  2. 2 to 3 afternoons of recreational activities per week, conducted in English, during which the student chooses what they’d like to do from the following options ( depending on the location):

Sports, such as: swimming, soccer, dance, volleyball, basketball, Olympic-style games, table tennis, golf, cricket, badminton, bowling, etc.
Art and leisure activities, such as: drawing, escape games, scrapbooking, arts and crafts, etc.
Cultural visits, such as: the universities of Oxford or Cambridge, the Roman Baths in Bath, York, etc.

  1. One day trip per week, such as: Cambridge, Bath, Oxford, Bristol, York, etc.
  2. Every evening, there are supervised activities such as: LEC parties, karaoke, trivia nights, talent shows, casino parties, giant "Draw and Win" games, BBQ parties, fashion shows, social games, and more.

Horseback Riding: A Closer Look

  1. 3 sessions per week, each lasting 2 hours, in the afternoon
  2. A program suitable for both beginners and experienced riders
  3. Lessons at a riding school accredited by the BHS (British Horse Society)
  4. Classes taught in English by certified instructors
  5. Improvements in breeding techniques
  6. Mastery of posture, balance, and the various gaits
  7. Depending on the riders' skill level, indoor or outdoor riding lessons, trail rides through the English countryside, show jumping courses, etc.
  8. Improving your skills in caring for, tending to, and saddling your horse, etc.
