Study Abroad Program in England – Special 10th Grade Course: Discover London

A program exclusively for students finishing 10th grade to explore London and improve their English skills before starting 11th grade Ages 15–17 – 10th grade

This program is exclusively for students who finish their school year in mid-June and wish to prepare for their transition to 11th grade while exploring London’s iconic landmarks. In groups of 12 to 15 students, participants will follow an educational program focused on acquiring new knowledge, reinforcing foundational skills, and catching up on any missed material in preparation for ongoing assessments.

Accommodation

  1. With a family selected and visited by our local organizers

Class

  1. Exclusively for students completing their sophomore year
  2. 3 3 hours of class per day, in the morning
  3. Classes of 12 to 15 students, formed based on a placement test
  4. Educational program designed to prepare students for entry into11th grade
  5. Reinforcing foundational knowledge and acquiring new concepts, catching up on any gaps in preparation for ongoing assessments
  6. Interactive courses for significant improvement in both writing and speaking
  7. Practicing speaking skills to build self-confidence
  8. Grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension
  9. Practical exercises, press reviews, discussions, role-playing, etc.
  10. Classes taught by a team consisting of an English-speaking teacher and a bilingual teacher, combining a variety of teaching approaches
  11. Submitting a trip report

 

Supervision

  1. English and French teachers and instructors
  2. 1 adult for every 12 children
  3. 1 French staff member on site, available to parents and students
  4. Priorities: progress in English, youth safety and well-being

Activities and Recreation

  1. 3 to 4 guided tours per week in London, conducted in English, designed to help you explore the city:

– Visits to places such asBuckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Piccadilly Circus,Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden,Madame Tussauds, the British Museum, etc.
A cruise on the Thames, the London Eye, shopping on Oxford Street or in Knightsbridge, etc.

  1. 2 to 3 afternoons a week of varied recreational activities, conducted in English, such as tennis, swimming, soccer, mini-golf, bowling, etc.
