English Summer Camp in France – Middle School & 10th Grade – Soccer

The soccer-themed English summer camp in France is designed for anyone who wants to study on a beautiful campus and, in addition to three hours of English classes per day, dreams of fully embracing their passion for soccer while enjoying a wide variety of recreational activities and evening events—all without leaving France.

Accommodation

  1. On the beautiful campus of the Institution Marmoutier, on the banks of the Loire, where everything is conducted entirely in English 
  2. Comfortable rooms with 1 to 4 beds (and sometimes 4 to 6 beds for younger children)
  3. You can stay with one or more friends
  4. High-quality facilities and a wide range of amenities: green spaces, sports fields, a gym, etc.
  5. Modern and comfortable classrooms
  6. Full board with hot meals prepared on-site, mainly using local ingredients

English classes

  • Three hours of English classes perday, in the morning, taught by a team of qualified bilingualteachers
  • Classesof12 to 15 students organizedby grade level 
  • Aninteractive and tailoredteaching approach: focusingon vocabulary, listening comprehension, and grammar through hands-on activities, news reviews, role-playing, projects, and more.
  • Many classes are organized around a specific theme ( Harry Potter, ecology, travel, American movies and TV shows, English-speaking celebrities, etc.) tospark discussionandencourage students to participate as much as possible in English
  • Presentation of anLEC Certificate for a Language Study Abroad Program
  • Submitting atrip report 

Lesson 2

Bilingual instruction

  1. English-speaking teachers and activity leaders available 24 hours a day
  2. 1 adult for every 12 children
  3. 1 French director on site, available to parents
  4. Priorities: progress in English, youth safety and well-being
  5. Coaching in accordance with Youth and Sports standards

Soccer and other recreational activities

The LEC Summer Camp experience also gives young people the chance to enjoy the beautiful green spaces on our campuses, try out new activities, and have funin a safe environment.

  1. 6 afternoons of soccer(see details below)
  2. On other afternoons, the young person chooses what they want to do from a selection of activities such as :
    • Sports activities and an introduction to sports from the English-speaking world: baseball, basketball, cheerleading, dance, tennis, cricket, badminton, beach volleyball, table tennis, Double Dutch, yoga, etc.
    • Artistic and cultural activities: theater, drawing, escape games, origami, immersion in Anglo-American worlds (DC Comics, Marvel, Sherlock Holmes, etc.), tasting British or American pastries (pancakes, scones), etc.
  3. Every evening, the students enjoy supervised English-language activities, such as: Talent Contest, BBQ Party, Mystery Night, Movie Night, Prom Night, LEC Party, etc.

Football Theme: Details

  1. 6 soccer sessions, each lasting 3 hours, in the afternoon
  2. A program suitable for both beginners and experienced players
  3. Training sessionsled by an experienced coach
  4. Improving individual skills and teamwork
  5. Development of tactics and game awareness: defensive positioning and repositioning, team management, pressing, offside rules, attack-defense balance, ball control, and coordination, etc.
  6. Positions-specific drills (forward, midfielder, defender, goalkeeper)
  7. Practice on dribbling techniques, passing, shooting with the foot and head, etc.

 The Football option is presented in French.

2/ Without transportation (individual travel)
For all stays, you may choose to drop off your child directly at the residence campus on the first day of the stay and pick them up there on the last day of the stay during the time slots that will be provided to you after registration.
