Today, LEC wishes a happy birthday to Charles Philip Arthur George, better known as the Prince of Wales or, more commonly, Prince Charles. Born on November 14, 1948, in London, the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh is celebrating his 65th birthday today. Prince Charles, future King of England

A prominent member of the British royal family, Prince Charles has been first in line to the British throne since 1952 (and his mother’s coronation). He has been heir to the throne for over 60 years, an all-time record.

Diana, William, Harry, and Camilla

In 1981, he married Diana Spencer, with whom he had two sons: William, Duke of Cambridge, and Henry of Wales, known as Prince Harry. In 2005, he married Camilla Shand. Prince Charles is famous for his charitable work, particularly through the Prince’s Trust and the Prince’s Regeneration Trust, which you may hear about during your language study trip to England!
