When our organization decided to send your child to one of its eight destinations, LEC also made a commitment to tell you everything about these destinations. And telling you everything also involves a bit of brand culture! Today, our organization invites you to take a closer look at Adidas, a model of success “made in Germany” —and not American, as some might think. So, before your language study trip to Germany, we invite you to learn a little more about the brand with the three stripes!

A company founded in 1948

Adolf Dassler founded the Adidas company three years after the end of World War II—we’ll leave it to you to combine the diminutive of his first name with the first syllable of his last name to figure out the brand name… Determined to make his company the gold standard in sports equipment, he based his business in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria. Since then, the highly successful company has become Europe’s leading sports manufacturer and the world’s second-largest, trailing only its nemesis, Nike.
