First, it’s important to clarify something—at the risk of disappointing even the most ardent cheese lovers: the German city of Münster should not be confused with the French town of Munster, in the Haut-Rhin department. It is in the latter that the famous soft, washed-rind cheese is produced—not in its German namesake!
