During a language study trip to Scotland, the Edinburgh International Jazz Festival is known as the Edinburgh Jazz Festival. This annual event takes place every July in Scotland’s capital and attracts both loyal locals and curious tourists each year.
A humble beginning…
To trace the origins of the Edinburgh Jazz Festival, we have to go back to the late 1970s. The event was launched in 1978, but at the time, it consisted merely of a series of concerts held here and there in the city’s pubs. Behind these early beginnings was a man whose name has become legendary among jazz enthusiasts: Mike Hart, a guitarist, banjo player, and great lover of traditional jazz.

Decades after its humble beginnings, the event has now become one of the favorite festivals among jazz fans! On the program:
