A tiny country
Delaware is a state in the U.S. Coastal Plain, on the Atlantic Ocean. Bordered by Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, it covers an area of over 5,000 square kilometers and had a population of approximately 917,000 according to the 2012 census. As you may have guessed, Delaware is surprisingly small and is the second-smallest state in the Union after Rhode Island.
From Wilmington to Newark
While Delaware’s largest city is Wilmington, it also counts Newarkamongits major cities, and its capital is Dover —not to be confused with the English town of Dover, which LEC mentioned in a previous “Did You Know?” post.
