According to the 2013 census, Jacksonville had a population of 842,583 —a figure that, on this side of the Atlantic Ocean, can easily be compared to Marseille, which is home to some 852,000 people. In terms of population, Jacksonville is the 4th largest metropolitan area in Florida and the 40th largest in the country.
A city built on the St. Johns River estuary
To find Jacksonville during your teen language study program in the United States, head to the mouth of the St. Johns River, a waterway that flows through the state for about 500 kilometers. The city is located in northeastern Florida, not far from Georgia.

Known by the acronym JU, which stands for Jacksonville University, it has been providing private education to American and international students since its founding in 1934.
