Middle School Trip to England – Surfing

English classes and surfing lessons at a beautiful British school Ages 11–14 / Ages 14–17 – 6th through 11th grade

The "School – Surf" program is designed for anyone who wants to study at a fantastic English school and, in addition to three hours of English lessons per day, wants to learn or improve their surfing skills, all while enjoying a wide variety of recreational activities and fun evening events.

Accommodation

  2. Comfortable rooms with 1 to 4 beds (and sometimes 4 to 6 beds for younger children)
  3. You can stay with one or more friends
  4. On campus, high-quality sports and educational facilities: green spaces, a gym, sports fields and playgrounds, a swimming pool, a theater, etc. (depending on the location)
  5. Modern and comfortable classrooms
  6. Full board with self-service meals, including hot meals for lunch and dinner ( on excursion days, packed lunches are provided)

Class

  1. 3 hours of class per day, in the morning
  2. Classes of 12 to 15 studentsformed based on a placement test
  3. Interactive courses for significant improvement in both writing and speaking
  4. Practicing speaking skills to build self-confidence
  5. Grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension
  6. Practical exercises, press reviews, discussions, role-playing, etc.
  7. Classes taught by an English-speaking teacher and a bilingual teacher to provide a variety of teaching approaches
  8. Submitting a trip report

Lesson 1

Supervision

  1. English and French teachers and activity leaders available 24 hours a day
  2. 1 adult for every 12 children
  3. 1 French director on site, available to parents
  4. Priorities: progress in English, youth safety and well-being

Activities and Recreation

  1. 3 surfing sessions per week, conducted in English ( see details below)
  2. 2 to 3 afternoons of recreational activities per week, conducted in English, during which the student chooses what they’d like to do from the following options ( depending on the location):

Sports, such as: tennis, swimming, soccer, dance, volleyball, basketball, Olympic-style games, table tennis, golf, cricket, badminton, bowling, etc.
Artistic activities: drawing, scrapbooking, crafts, etc.
– Cultural tours: Oxford or Cambridge University, the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, the Roman Baths in Bath, the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, etc.

  1. One day trip per week, such as to Bath, Oxford, Bristol, Cardiff, etc.
  2. Every evening, supervised activities such as: LEC disco, karaoke, trivia night, talent show, casino party, giant "Draw and Win," BBQ party, fashion show, social games, and more.

Surf Plan Details

  1. 3 two-hour sessions per week, in the afternoon,conducted in English
  2. A program suitable for bothbeginnersandexperienced surfers
  3. Sessions led in English, led by experienced surf instructors
  4. Teaching basic postures and movements
  5. Depending on the surfers' skill level, transitioning from lying down to standing up, mastering steering and speed control, trying out duck dives, takeoffs, and bottom turns, etc.
  6. Discover the world of surfing, its culture, history, and philosophy

Important: All trips with the Surf option are reserved for young people who can swim.
