Middle School Trip to England – Video Games and Esports

English classes, video games, esports, and a variety of activities at a beautiful English school Ages 11–14 / 14–17 – 6th through 11th grade

The "Video Games and Esports" Middle School Program is designed for anyone who wants to study at a fantastic English middle school and, in addition to three hours of English classes per day, dreams of fully embracing their passion for video games and esports, while also enjoying a wide variety of outdoor recreational activities and fun evening events.

Accommodation

  2. Comfortable rooms with 1 to 4 beds (and sometimes 4 to 6 beds for younger children)
  3. You can stay with one or more friends
  4. On campus, there are high-quality sports and educational facilities, including green spaces, a gymnasium, sports fields and playgrounds, a swimming pool, a theater, and more (depending on the location).
  5. Modern and comfortable classrooms
  6. Full board with hot meals for lunch and dinner ( on excursion days, packed lunches are provided)

 

Class

  1. 3 hours of class per day, in the morning
  2. Classes of 12 to 15 students, formed based on a placement test
  3. Interactive courses for significant improvement in both writing and speaking
  4. Practicing speaking skills to build self-confidence
  5. Grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension
  6. Practical exercises, press reviews, discussions, role-playing, etc.
  7. Classes taught by a team consisting of an English-speaking teacher and a bilingual teacher, combining a variety of teaching approaches
  8. Sending a trip summary

Supervision

  1. English and French teachers and activity leaders available 24 hours a day
  2. 1 adult for every 12 children
  3. 1 French director on site, available to parents
  4. Priorities: progress in English, youth safety and well-being

Video games, esports, and other recreational activities

  1. 3 video game and esports sessions, conducted in English, lasting 2 hours per week, in the afternoon ( see details below)
  2. 2 to 3 afternoons of leisure activities per week, conducted in English, during which students can choose what they’d like to do from the following recreational activities, such as:

Sports: tennis, swimming, soccer, dance, volleyball, Olympic-style games, table tennis, golf, cricket, badminton, bowling, etc.
Arts and leisure activities: drawing, escape rooms, scrapbooking, crafts, etc.
Cultural tours: Oxford or Cambridge University, the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, the Roman Baths in Bath, etc.

  1. One day trip per week, such as: Cambridge, London, Bath, Oxford, Bristol, etc.
  2. Every evening, supervised activities such as: LEC party, karaoke, trivia night, talent show, casino night, giant "Draw and Win," BBQ party, fashion show, social games, etc.

Theme: Video Games and Esports

  1. 3 two-hour sessions per week, conducted in English, designed to be fun while building vocabulary related to video games and esports 
  2. Team-based games or VS fighting games on PS4 and Switch consoles or on PC
  3. Cooperative games to encourage language exchange and foster team spirit (Overcooked, etc.)
  4. Tournaments and challenges featuring the most popular video games (FIFA, Street Fighter, Mario Kart, etc.)
  5. Guided sessions in English and advice from an experienced bilingual instructor who is passionate about video games and esports

In the best interests of the children, we limit sessions to a maximum of two hours to reduce screen time and allow them to enjoy other recreational activities (sports and outdoor recreation, arts and crafts, etc.) in the afternoon
