Middle School Trip to England – Tennis

English lessons and tennis practice at a beautiful English school Ages 11–14 / Ages 14–17 – 6th through 11th grade

The Middle School – Tennis Program is designed for anyone who wants to study at a superb English middle school and, in addition to three hours of English lessons per day, dreams of fully pursuing their passion for tennis, while enjoying a wide variety of recreational activities and evening events.

Accommodation

  2. Comfortable rooms with 1 to 4 beds (and sometimes 4 to 6 beds for younger children)

  4. On campus, high-quality sports and educational facilities: green spaces, a gym, sports fields and playgrounds, a swimming pool, a theater, etc. (depending on the location)
  5. Modern and comfortable classrooms
  6. Full board with hot meals for lunch and dinner ( on excursion days, packed lunches are provided)

Class

  1. 3 hours of class per day, in the morning
  2. Classes of 12 to 15 students, formed based on a placement test
  3. Interactive courses for significant improvement in both writing and speaking
  4. Practicing speaking skills to build self-confidence
  5. Grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension
  6. Practical exercises, press reviews, discussions, role-playing, etc.
  7. Classes taught by a team consisting of an English-speaking teacher and a bilingual teacher, combining a variety of teaching approaches
  8. Submitting a trip report

Lesson 1

Supervision

  1. English and French teachers and activity leaders available 24 hours a day
  2. 1 adult for every 12 children
  3. 1 French director on site, available to parents
  4. Priorities: progress in English, youth safety and well-being

Activities and Recreation

  1. 3 afternoons of tennis per week, conducted in English ( see details below)
  2. 2 to 3 afternoons of recreational activities per week, conducted in English, during which the student chooses what they’d like to do from the following options ( depending on the location):

Sports, such as: swimming, soccer, dance, volleyball, basketball, Olympic-style games, table tennis, golf, cricket, badminton, bowling, etc.
Art and recreational activities, such as: drawing, escape games, scrapbooking, arts and crafts, etc.
cultural visits, such as: Oxford or Cambridge University, the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, Canterbury Cathedral, the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, etc.

  1. One day trip per week, such as to Cambridge, London, Bath, Oxford, or Bristol, etc.
  2. Every evening, supervised activities such as: LEC Party, karaoke, trivia night, talent show, casino night, giant "Draw and Win," BBQ party, fashion show, social games, and more.

Tennis Theme: Details

  1. 3 sessions of 3 hours each per week, in the afternoon
  2. A program suitable for both beginners and experienced players
  3. Tennis lessons taught in English by experienced instructors, with personalized instruction
  4. Refining basic strokes: forehand, backhand, serve, etc., and an introduction to more advanced techniques: smash, volley, lob, etc.
  5. Teaching a tactical approach to tennis to help players build their game strategically
  6. Learning different playing styles: coming to the net, baseline play, etc.
  7. Putting it into practice during games and tournaments
