English Summer Camp in France – Middle School and 10th Grade – Adventure & Nature Activities

Experience adventures in the great outdoors while immersing yourself in the English language—all without leaving France Ages 11–14 / 14–16 – 6th through 10th grade

The "Adventure & Nature" English Summer Camp in France is designed for anyone who wants to study on a beautiful campus and, in addition to three hours of English classes per day, dreams of participating in outdoor adventure sports while enjoying a wide variety of recreational activities and relaxing evenings—all without leaving France.

Accommodation

  1. On the beautiful campus of the Domaine du Chambon – Sports and Nature Center, in Charente, where everything is conducted entirely in English 
  2. Comfortable rooms with 1 to 4 beds (and sometimes 4 to 6 beds for younger children)
  3. You can stay with one or more friends
  4. High-quality facilities and a wide range of amenities: green spaces, sports fields, etc.
  5. Modern and comfortable classrooms
  6. Full board with hot meals prepared on-site, mainly using local ingredients

All of our campuses are Youth and Sports-approved lodging and vacation centers

English classes

  • Three hours of English classes per day, in the morning, taught by a team of qualified bilingual teachers
  • Classes of 12 to 15 students organized by grade level 
  • An interactive and tailored teaching approach : Focus on vocabulary, listening comprehension, and grammar through hands-on activities, news reviews, role-playing, projects, and more.
  • Many classes are organized around a specific theme ( Harry Potter, ecology, travel, American movies and TV shows, English-speaking celebrities, etc.) to spark discussion andencourage students to participate as much as possible in English
  • Presentation of an LEC Certificate for a Language Study Abroad Program
  • Sending a trip summary   

Lesson 2

Bilingual instruction

  1. English-speaking teachers and activity leaders available 24 hours a day
  2. 1 adult for every 12 children
  3. 1 French director on site, available to parents
  4. Priorities: progress in English, youth safety and well-being
  5. Coaching in accordance with Youth and Sports standards

Adventure & Nature Activities and Other Leisure Activities

The LEC Summer Camp experience also gives young people the chance to enjoy the beautiful green spaces on our campuses and try out new activities in a safe environment.

  1. 4 outdoor adventure activities during the trip, in the afternoon ( see details below)
  2. On other afternoons, the young person chooses what they want to do from a selection of activities, such as :
    • Sports activities and an introduction to sports from the English-speaking world: baseball, basketball, cheerleading, soccer, tennis, cricket, badminton, beach volleyball, table tennis, yoga, Double Dutch, forest orienteering, etc.
    • Artistic and cultural activities: theater, drawing, escape games, origami, immersion in Anglo-American worlds (DC Comics, Marvel, Sherlock Holmes, etc.), tasting British or American pastries (pancakes, scones), etc.
  3. Every evening, the students enjoy supervised English-language events, such as: Talent Contest, BBQ Party, Mystery Night, Movie Night, Prom Night, LEC Party, Hawaiian Party, etc.

Adventure & Nature Activities: Details

Adventure & Nature activities are led in French, with one adult supervisor for every 12 children. This program is open only to children who can swim.

For all stays, you may choose to drop off your child directly at the residence campus on the first day of the stay and pick them up there on the last day of the stay during the time slots that will be provided to you after registration.
