In addition to your morning language classes, choose a theme for your afternoons! All afternoon activities are conducted in the language of the host country and led—depending on the theme you choose—by qualified instructors, coaches, or teachers. You must select your theme at the time of registration.

Themes offered for "Middle School," "Summer Camp," and "Discover" programs

After three hours of language classes in the morning, each day is organized in an engaging way around a theme of your choice, to keep the students’ interest fresh. Of course, regardless of the theme chosen, students will participate in the cultural excursions and evening activities included in the school’s program. Thus , depending on the country and school, they will have the opportunity to explore cities such as London, Cambridge, Oxford, Dublin, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Ottawa, Valletta, Barcelona, and more.

  • Language Immersion Programs with an Artistic Focus

    – For young artists, LEC offers the following themes in England: Dance, Theater, Halloween, Manga and Music School(singing and/or playing a musical instrument).

  • Themed Language Programs: Prep Courses & Intensive Courses

    – The Intensive English program, offered in England, includes two additional English classes per week in the afternoon, for a total of 32 class hours during two-week stays (two classes during one-week stays)

    – The “Special 10th Grade Internship” program, offered in Malta as part of the Multi-Activity Middle School Trip, is exclusively for students completing their 10th grade year who wish to receive intensive preparation for their transition to 11th grade. It’s a great way to make the most of the month of June.

Available Options for Course and Activity Packages

The"Courses and Activities " program offers three hours of language instruction per group of 12 to 15 students. In addition to these classes, students enjoy a wide-ranging recreational program that includes cultural visits, a variety of sports activities, and field trips. Upon registration, you can choose a more specific option to customize your stay.

  • Language Immersion Programs with "Discoveries" Themes

    – In England: If your child would like to focus on exploring London’s must-see attractions, the“Discover London” option is the way to go.

  • Themed Language Programs: Prep Courses & Intensive Courses

    – The Special 10th Grade Field Trip: Discover London, exclusively for students completing their sophomore year for students who want intensive preparation for their first year of high school is offered in England. It’s a great way to make the most of the month of June.

Options Available for Intensive Language Courses and Activities

Just like the "Courses and Activities" program, the "Intensive Courses and Activities " program offers a wide range of activities and excursions designed to help students relax and explore their host country. Here, students receive 4 hours of language instruction in groups of 8 to 10 students.

  • Themed Language Programs: Prep Courses & Intensive Courses

    – The Special Workshop for 10th Graders, exclusively for students completing their sophomore year for students who wish to benefit from intensive preparation for entering 11th grade, is offered in England, in Ireland, at Malta, in Germany  and in Spain. A great way to make the most of June.
    The "Intensive Courses – Special 10th Grade Program" is also available as an option Explore London.

Options available for one-on-one lessons

During these one-on-one stays, students enjoy not only private lessons but also the opportunity to immerse themselves in their teacher’s family life.

  • Language Study Abroad Options: 1 Teacher per Student


    – In England, Ireland, the U.S., Canada, Malta, Germany, and Spain, the Sightseeing Package option allows you to enjoy three cultural tours per week with your host family, such as (depending on your destination) : London Eye, Tower of London, Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, 9/11 Memorial & Ground Zero in New York, MIT Museum in Boston, CN Tower in Toronto, Blarney Castle in Ireland, Valletta, Rhine River cruise in Germany, Park Güell in Spain, etc. ( This option is mandatory for students under 18 years of age on the day of departure).

    – For one-on-one stays with individual travel arrangements: Throughout the year, our teachers welcome participants of all ages into their homes for a week or longer. Arrival is on Sunday and departure is on Saturday. For individual travel, the participant is responsible for organizing, booking, and paying for transportation. However, LEC offers a paid meet-and-greet and transfer service upon arrival in the selected country. The participant is then met upon arrival and driven to their host family, and escorted back in the same manner upon departure. (This option is mandatory for students under 16 years of age on the day of departure for stays in England, Ireland, Malta, Spain, and Germany, and for students under 18 years of age on the day of departure for stays in the USA and Canada.)

Option offered as part of the Prep School (C.P.G.E.) program

During our Prep School programs, students receive 6 hours of English instruction per day in classes of 6 students. Upon registration, students can sign up for the option Sciences Po Prep Course, in order to refocus your preparation for the specific entrance exams for the Institutes of Political Studies and give yourself the best possible chance of success on the English exam.

Options available for Family Immersion Programs in Ireland

On Family Immersion programs in Ireland, young people get to experience life within an Irish family. These programs, which do not include English classes, offer the chance to discover a new way of life from the inside, while practicing English on a daily basis.

  • Language Immersion Programs with "Discoveries" Themes

    The Family Immersion & Excursionsprogram allows students to enjoyone full-day excursion and two half-day excursions packed with activities and leisure pursuits with their host family each week.

  • Language Immersion Programs with a Sports Theme

    As part of its Family Immersion program in Ireland, LEC also offers the following sports-themed camps: Soccer Camp, Basketball Camp, Tennis Camp, Surf Camp, and Adventure Camp, where young people spend afternoons or full days enjoying their favorite sports alongside Irish peers. It’s a great way to improve your English without even realizing it!
